Kreatosoupa Ingredients
1 kg beef, diced into 2-inch cubes
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
3 celery sticks, sliced
2 onions, finely diced
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1.5 litres of beef stock
3 tbsp olive oil
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp dried thyme
1 tsp each of salt and freshly ground black pepper
Juice and zest of one lemon
How to Make Kreatosoupa
- Add the olive oil to a large pan and put it over high heat.
- Then add the beef to the pan and sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the beef is nicely browned on all sides.
- Next, add the onions, carrots, and celery to the pan and saute for another two minutes.
- Add the potatoes, bay leaves, and thyme to the pan, then cover with the beef stock. Stir all the ingredients together.
- Cover the pan with a lid, turn the hob to low, then cook for approximately 2 hours until all the ingredients are tender.
- Season the soup with salt, black pepper, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir the ingredients together, and cook for another five minutes.

- The best cut of beef to use for the kreatosoupa recipe is chuck steak, also known as braising steak. However, you can experiment with different cuts of meat and adapt cooking and timings accordingly.
